Workshop - Core Materials and Sandwich Structures
University of Liverpool
April 2008
Chair: Dr Bob Mines, University of Liverpool
The underlying theme of the seminar was the relation of the properties of core materials in sandwich construction to the structural performance of complete structural elements. The first three presentations focused on core materials and detailed core analysis. New innovative manufacturing processes are being developed that enable the realisation of cellular materials with novel properties.
The remaining presentations focused on various structural aspects - progressive collapse, structural failure, ageing, delamination and impact loading.
